Highest possible quality and reliability were the key reasons why Hirschmann™ switches, Industrial HiVision Network Management System and network technical support were chosen to produce 585,000 tons of high grade aluminum per year at Qatalum, one of the most environment-friendly smelters ever built.
With Hirschmann™ modular switches, an Ethernet network that has existed for 20 years has been completely renovated in just a few days. Port of Le Havre now has a new network which is fully protected against failures, with added benefits of high availability and redundant network nodes and links.
An Ethernet network transports all data to and from The City’s 16 substations via MACH1000 switches. The topology used is Fast HIPER-Ring; all network components are protected by redundant power supplies (UPSs). The Hirschmann™ Gigabit Ethernet switches provide the bandwidth necessary for VoIP communications, which greatly reduces the monthly, re-occuring costs from the local phone provider.
As a leader in the generation of reliable power from solar energy, Torresol Energy develops Concentrating Solar Power (CSP) plants. The company’s flagship project is GEMASOLAR, a new plant in Fuentes de Andalucía in Seville, Spain.
The principal function of the network is to standardize communications and provide data transfer to the distributed monitoring system which controls the technology components of Terminal North I. Moving walkways for passengers, the docking system for leading planes to stands, baggage sorting plants and the air conditioning system are also connected to the network.
The communication network realized by Siscom for the San Giovanni, Diavolo, and Vasto railway tunnels fully satisfies the fundamental criteria for transport systems: reliability, redundancy, and availability.
